He’s got Elvis hair and a catchy new tune.
JT Hodges may have the breakout song of 2011 with his debut single. It’s catchy, fun, and it’s got every country fan trying to whistle this year.

Hunt You Down – JT Hodges
What do you think?
If you remember way back to 2010 there was a song that came out of nowhere and had everybody singing along. It was [easyazon-link asin=”B003U9ZQ8E”]Lover, Lover[/easyazon-link] and the singer was Jerrod Niemann.
It’s early, but I think Hunt You Down could be the breakout song of 2011 just as Lover, Lover was last year. [easyazon-link asin=”B00544G09M”]Hunt You Down[/easyazon-link] is really catchy. It doesn’t sound like any other song on the radio right now and it’s got everybody turning up the volume when it comes through the speakers.
The song is about a chance meeting one night between a guy and a girl. There’s a connection between the two. They leave each other for the night and the guy swears he’s going to hunt this girl down. The connection was something special and he can’t stand to see her get away.
It always amazes me when artists can take the story of love and put a completely new twist on it. The music and the sound really make this song unique. It’s nothing like I’ve ever heard before. JT seems to have himself on the verge of a huge hit. The song is just on the edges of the charts right now, but I think it’s going to keep climbing.
JT is heading out this summer on tour with Toby Keith. Toby is taking the newcomer out with him since JT is on Toby’s record label. Show Dog has struggled with breaking out new artists in the past, but I think they may finally have themselves something that can gain momentum.
JT has a unique look and a unique sound. Add in a great song and it all seems to add up to success.
Don’t you agree?
