One thing I do when I sit down to write about a new song is do a quick search of the archives. I want to make sure that I’m not writing about a song that I’ve already written about. That’s happened before…
I also get curious to see if I’ve written about artists in the past.
With Adam Craig I got an interesting result. We did a review way back in 2010 of one of his songs. That goes to show you how much effort artists are willing to put in to chase their big break. Overnight success? It’s a myth.
Anyway, let’s check out this cool new song from Adam Craig.
Just A Phase – Adam Craig
It looks like Adam is part of Stoney Creek now, which is part of the Broken Bow Records umbrella. That’s technically an independent label, but they’ve had big success.
So that’s a good sign for this song having success. And I really do think it has a good chance.
The song seems to be about a guy that’s looking at a situation he’s having with a girl. It sounds like she’s maybe just on the cusp of committing. He seems to be all in. It’s kind of the moment that he’s coming to the realization that she’s the one for him forever.
It makes him smile knowing that things are probably going to work out. It’s a little scary because people don’t always feel this emotion at the exact same moment.
And that’s kind of where the song turns…
The guy seems to realize that he’s just a phase. He’s all in, but the girl is really never going to commit.
This is a great song. Great melody.
I hope it becomes a hit.
