Throughout 2016, we started looking at what Aubrie Sellers was doing with her music. She released an album really early on and it made some good noise in the country world. It was an independent release and it seemed like it had to be because the music was different from what others were doing.
Then Aubrie signed a deal with Warner. I think they re-released the album later in 2016 and since then I really haven’t been paying as much attention as I should have been.
Here is another song from that album. I’m curious to see how things go in 2017. She’s a great new artist.
Just To Be With You – Aubrie Sellers
It’s a little bluesy and jazzy. It’s also got some definite country influence in there. Maybe a little rock and really all kinds of stuff going on. I think it’s pretty cool.
There is a lot of longing in Aubrie’s music. This one seems to be about someone that is so in love with someone that they want to spend all their time with them. They would go through anything and do just about anything necessary to be with this person.
There’s also a sense of just figuring things out in life. That’s kind of how it goes when you’re in your 20s. You’re really just trying to figure things out. You’re testing boundaries and pushing yourself in new ways to see what works for you and what doesn’t.
Aubrie is one of the artists in country music that I’m excited about. She has a unique style and I hope that her partnership with Warners results in some notice from the mainstream world.
