Keith Urban has a great sound. He’s not traditional country. He’s a little bit of pop and rock with a country soul mixed in. All the ingredients in Keith’s music make for a great sound and country was lucky enough to adopt him into their family.
As we head into 2011 Keith is riding high with his latest big hit Put You In A Song– heading for the top spot on the charts. His latest album Get Closer
has been riding high on the charts for weeks since its release and fans are eating up every song on the set.
One song on Get Closer has been keeping my attention for the past few days. I can’t stop playing it and I really think it’s going to be a hit down the road in 2011 for Keith.
Long Hot Summeris another Keith Urban and Richard Marx collaboration. In the past they’ve gotten together for what was one of Keith’s biggest hits Better Life
and another hit Everybody
. Those songs were sure hits on their albums and their latest co-write is another strong one on Keith’s album.
Long Hot Summer seems to be about a guy that sees a beautiful girl one day at the beginning of summer. His mind drifts to a day dream where he and the woman are spending the long hot summer together doing all the things young lovers do. The guy does say ‘hi’ to her and things might just be heating up between them.
The song has a great melody as do most of Keith’s big hits. This one is up tempo and really moves through the song. It’s one of those catchy Keith Urban songs you find yourself racing to keep up as you sing along with every word.
I’m hoping to hear this one on radio real soon.
