Kellie Pickler has always been a surprise.
On the surface Kellie can come across as an awe-shucks kind of gal. She may seem like she’s playing the role of a girl that’s just along for the ride and doing what people are telling her to do, but don’t let this girl fool you – she is smart and is now really starting to find her place in country music.
As the lead off single from her third album hits the charts it’s becoming more apparent – Kellie Pickler could be a pretty big star in country music.

Tough – Kellie Pickler
It’s been a few weeks since I first heard this track on the radio. I wasn’t a fan at first. The song seemed to have an awkward chorus and I didn’t really understand the concept of the song. It’s probably because I’m not the typical audience of Kellie’s or maybe just because I had written her off as a country star.
Now, as I hear the song more and more on the radio I have to say I’m a fan. Kellie has changed my mind. Tough is going to be a hit. In fact, it could become Kellie’s biggest hit to date.
After checking things out I was surprised to find that Kellie’s highest charting song up to this point was Best Days Of Your Life, which reached #9 back in 2008. Kellie did a great job on that track and I’m sure having Taylor Swift attached to the song was a little bit of a help.
With [easyazon-link asin=”B0054MMD2W”]Tough[/easyazon-link], though, Kellie seems to have her place in country music figured out. She’s got this attitude about her. When she sings Tough you believe her. There is truth to the lyrics Kellie sings in this track and it’s easy to see she’s ready for anything in life. That’s probably why nobody should have bet against her. She’s tough and ready to make it big in country music no matter what anyone says about her.
[easyazon-link asin=”B0054MMD2W”]Tough[/easyazon-link] seems to be about how men sometimes want shy little women to bow to all their needs. In the song Kellie makes it clear she’s not that kind of gal. I think the song is probably just about that relationship between men and women, but it also reflects a little about Kellie’s career. Some have probably pushed her aside as just another pretty face, but as she readies the release of her third album it’s becoming clear she’s here to stay.
[easyazon-link asin=”B0054MMD2W”]Tough[/easyazon-link] is a great track and Kellie is winning me over. She’s her to stay in this business.
