Kid Rock doesn’t hide his love for good times.
When it comes to living the rockstar live and keeping a balance with family, friends, and having a good time, Kid Rock is the king. Fans have come to respect Kid Rock for his musical passion. With the occasional look into Kid’s own life fans are able to see he’s a caring father and a good friend to those close to him back in his Detroit area home.
These days Kid Rock is busy promoting and touring for his latest album Born Free. The second single was just released and while it may never see any airtime on country radio I thought it was still worth looking at given Kid’s history in the genre.
God Bless Saturday is a song about the working man and woman. In the weekly grind we’re all working for the weekend. In the middle class way of life there isn’t much to look forward to when we’re working all week and being tired when we get home. By the time Saturday rolls around we’re looking for some time off to have fun with family and friends.
God Bless Saturday is the kind of song fans have come to love from Kid Rock. It’s straight forward rock and roll with a slight tip of the hat to modern country music. Kid has always had the influence of country in his back pocket and it’s served him well to this point.
Writing theme songs for the weekend can’t be that easy. It’s been done before to the point of doing something entirely new free of cliche is almost impossible.
I think Kid’s done it well with God Bless Saturday though.
