This one has been out for awhile. The album came out way back in August. I remember waiting on it, but the songs weren’t available on Spotify at the time. Then I kind of forgot about it and now here we are six months later…
Well now I know I’m going to have to check out the entire album a few times. But first we’ll look at the first track and what seems to be one of the popular songs on the record.
Here is a newish one from Casey Donahew.
Kiss Me – Casey Donahew
Sometimes I wish we had a Texas Country radio station here in Wisconsin. They make some of the best music down there when it comes to traditional and cowboy country. Although I don’t know if Casey fits entirely into those buckets.
There’s also a little bit of a rock edge in Texas. That’s kind of where Casey has always fit. We’ve looked at his music in the past here on CML. I don’t think we’ve had a look though since he dropped the “Band” from his act.
Anyway, this is a pretty cool new song. It kind of reminds me of a Keith Urban rift with the rolling guitar or banjo or whatever that thing is. It’s cool.
The lyrics are about a couple that’s kind of just starting to feel things out. That’s kind of what I’m feeling anyway in the story. They’re feeling things out. They’re both in the same spot and ready to get rolling, but they’re waiting on one of them to make the first move.
CML Points: 85/100
