Kix Brooks couldn’t quite break into the top 30 on the charts with his first solo single since Brooks & Dunn called it quits. His second single is now out at radio and it sounds like another great country song. Will this one break into the top 30 range on the charts? It’s going to be close, but if this thing can gain some steam it could be a hit country song.
Bring It On Home – Kix Brooks
Listen to Bring It On Home by Kix Brooks
Kix was never the star of Brooks & Dunn especially during the last ten years of the duo’s run at the top of the charts, but if you go back to the early days you’ll find some really good songs that Kix sang lead on. He has a unique country voice. It’s apparent with the songs he’s been releasing since the guys went their own ways. Ronnie Dunn has obviously has his success to a point and I would say up to this point they’ve both been releasing some great music.
This track seems to be a love song from Kix that is probably about his life. He’s going through life struggling and doing things one way and now he’s found someone that will change those ways. It’s a part of life that every guy goes through at some point. For some it’s a no brainer to settle down and just be the family man while it’s a more difficult transition for others.
This song is nothing crazy and spectacular, but it’s a solid country song. I really like it and it’s one I could listen to over and over.
