It’s pretty incredible looking back on Brad Paisley’s career. It’s been almost 20 years now that he’s been having hits. That doesn’t happen to that many country artists. Five years is a good run. Ten years is a great run.
Just doesn’t happen.
But here we are and Brad Paisley is as reliable as ever with the hits. He’s always had mostly a mix of his own material that he has written or co-written. He’s forged his own style. A little humor mixed in all kinds of areas of life including the ones that affect us most: love, loss, pain, happiness and more.
Here is the second single from his new album. It’s another good one.
Last Time For Everything – Brad Paisley
This is the kind of lyric that makes you think: Why hasn’t this been written before?
It seems so obvious. Maybe it has been written before, but I don’t remember it. I at least don’t remember it ever being said like this, but it’s so good.
The hook here is that life is always changing. Things might last for a little while, but things always change. There’s always a last time for everything.
Usually we’re focused on the first time for everything in life. That’s exciting. Then we kind of continue on and we forget that there is a last time for everything. It kind of catches us by surprise.
One last thing on this song is that the guitars almost remind me of Def Leppard. I don’t know if I’ve ever noticed that about Brad’s sound before. A little Hysteria for you in the country world.
Anyway, Brad is great and he’s as good as ever with this one.
