I think this is the first time we’ve featured Steven Martinez here on CML. It’s a great first impression. It looks like he’s an independent artist out there looking for his place in the music world. I think this song sounds like it will fit in the country world so we’ll have to see.
It’s a little Dan + Shay with a little Hunter Hayes in there as well. And those artists have been having some great success with this new style that they’re calling Nice Guy Country. It’s a good trend.
Let’s check this one out…
Let’s Just Go – Steven Martinez
The song is about young love. It seems to be about young love that the parents aren’t really fond of. That’s a story as old as time. Parents always want what’s best for their kids, but kids reach a certain point in life where they start making their own decisions and that can drive parents crazy.
This song has a good melody. It’s catchy. It’s fun. You feel like you’re right there with the young couple driving on the interstate, smiling and having a good time with the wind blow and the sun shining down on you.
It’s kind of beachy and country at the same time. Maybe a little Jake Owen inspiration in there along with some Rascal Flatts. It just makes you feel good and when you’re singing about young love you know that most listeners out there are going to connect with the theme.
This is a good one. I hope it does well.
