Lisa Matassa has been popping up on the country scene for the last couple years. She’s put out some really good songs, but hasn’t had that big mainstream breakout hit just yet.
Her latest single has been getting regular play on AOL Radio’s New Country First, which I listen to each day. I thought it was definitely worth sharing with you.
Check it out.
Lisa Matassa – I Won’t Ask
There is always an element of question with song lyrics. You never really know the entire story behind the song. Sometimes the writers leave it a little ambiguous on purpose so the listeners can put themselves in the story.
This one seems like it’s about a woman that’s in love with a guy, but he’s not entirely there for her all the time. Maybe he doesn’t have the same kind of love, but the woman wants him so much that she’ll do anything to keep the relationship alive.
She’ll let him go out and have his fun and won’t even ask him where he’s been when he comes home.
It’s kind of sad in a way, but what I really like about this song and usually about every song is the good melody. This one is catchy without over doing it.
I like this kind of song. I think it’s one that will get Lisa more of the mainstream attention she deserves.
