Somebody’s Baby by Lisa Matassa
We’ve covered Lisa Matassa here before on CML. I couldn’t remember why she looked familiar, but then I looked up her bio and realized she’s been around the music business for a while.
She started out with some hits in the pop genre back in the ’80s, but now she’s been in country for a few years.
It’s easy to tell she has the skills for singing because this is a great song.
Somebody’s Baby – Lisa Matassa
At first I got a little excited thinking this was a new artist covering the classic Jackson Browne song from the early ’80s, but that didn’t turn out to be the case.
It was all right, though, because this song is good. Maybe not that catchy, but really good.
The song is about growing up and spreading your wings, but realizing that no matter what happens you’ll always be someone’s baby. It could be your parents or your grandparents or an adult from your childhood that was important to you.
In their eyes you’ll always be the little kid growing up that was full of life and looking for great things.
It’s also important to remember that you’ll always have someone that loves you. When you meet that someone you want to spend your life with you have another person in your life that will call you baby.
This is a great song from a veteran singer. Lisa knew how to find a song with a great story and a great melody with this one.
