LeAnn Rimes is one of my favorite country artists of all time. Back in the ’90s things were pretty traditional and LeAnn Rimes busted onto the scene with some stone country.
But she also mixed in some pop as well and it was pretty cool. She just has this voice that transcends genres. She could probably sing any kind of song that she wanted to. I think now she’s recording the music that inspires her. She seems sincere in the music she’s putting out.
She has a new album out now. I don’t know what the status is with the promotion, but it looks like this is the new single.
Long Live Love – LeAnn Rimes
There seems to be some depth to this one. The lyrics seem to be introspective. We have a woman that’s contemplating what love means to her. It sounds like she’s made some choices in the past that have turned out to be difficult ones. It sounds like love has burned her a bit in the past.
But she’s not giving up on the idea of love. She still sees it around her. She still experiences it. And it sounds like no matter what she goes through in the future that she’ll be a believer in the power of love.
And that setting is all kind of weaved into this really powerful vocal. The background singers have a strong presence and it gives this song a pretty unique feel.
This is a good song. No one ever doubted LeAnn’s ability. She’s one of a kind and hopefully country fans are still interested in her music.
