RaeLynn has always seemed right on the cusp of big things. She has a different sound and a different style. She hasn’t been able to find that breakthrough just yet, but it seems like it has to be close.
She’s switched record labels recently and maybe this will be the change that she’s been working for. The first release from this new partnership is a good one.
Love Triangle – RaeLynn
This one has to be the best RaeLynn song released yet. I know she hasn’t put out that much music yet, but this one is really good. It has a kind of dark and slow melody to it, but it’s still catchy and I think it’s really well done.
The toned back vocal delivery is pretty cool. I feel like we’re watching a movie montage where a girl is really thinking deeply about life and how things have been going up to this point.
The song, I think, is about divorce and it’s from the perspective of the children that get caught in the middle. That’s the love triangle that can happen in that situation and the children are the ones that really seem to suffer the most when the situation occurs.
We’ve all seen it happen. It’s an unfortunate part of life. It’s not fair and I don’t think anyone goes into marriage thinking that they’re going to divorce, but it seems to happen far too often and it’s the ones stuck in the middle that often pay the emotion price.
Great song from a rising country star.
