Love and Theft have found a new home at Curb Records. The guys have kind of been through it all with the labels in Nashville.
They started out at Carolwood Records back in 2009. Actually, back then they were a trio.
Never heard of Carolwood? They were part of Lyric Street until that label shuttered not too long after the guys were having their initial success.
Then they moved to RCA where they had their first number one hit. They had some more great songs, but then parted ways.
Then they released a full album on their own. That got the attention of Curb and now they’re looking to build on their momentum with a new single.
I’m pulling for them…
Love Wins – Love and Theft
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this title. It could have went in a few directions. It turns out that it kind of takes a broad view of love. It’s about long lasting love between two people Maybe older people in your life like grandparents that have been together for all kinds of years.
But it’s also about other kinds of love. Two people. Parents. Children. Friends. And just caring about others around the world and not looking for a fight, but looking for peace.
That’s a pretty heady topic to take on, but these guys do a great job. They have such a great sound. It’s smooth and silky. It really works. I think they could have a hit on their hands.
I’m curious to see how this one works out for them.
