I don’t really know why the Casey Donahew Band isn’t nationwide yet. It seems that with each new album and each new single that they get closer and closer, but they’re not really on the nationwide mainstream scene yet. They’re really good. Maybe one of those Nashville labels will get on board with them soon…I mean, if they want to sell records that is.
Casey Donahew Band – Lovin’ Out Of Control
This one has that kind of laid back vibe to it. From what I can gather it’s about that crazy, but short-term love you sometimes fall into. For some reason the two people in the song aren’t able to stay together. They had an amazing time and now they’re apart. I guess that is something that probably happens a lot if you’re traveling for work.
It’s an interesting story, but for me it’s about the music and the melody. Casey and his band are geniuses with those two things. You have this rolling, laid back groove that pulls you in and makes you feel like you’re riding in a car on a summer night. You’re enjoying things, but kind of looking back fondly on something you no longer have.
It’s a really good song and perfect for summer if you’re out having a drink alone just thinking about the past. You’re a little sad, but you know that it just wasn’t meant to be.
What do you think of this new song from this under-appreciated band?
