Ending The Night With Luke Bryan

September 1st, 2011 No Comment

Luke Bryan’s latest single is out.

The song has a new feel for a Luke Bryan song. It’s a little dark. It’s a little like a couple Richard Marx songs or even a few Kenny Chesney songs. Luke is looking for the big time and this song is definitely a winner.

I Don’t Want This Night To End – Luke Bryan

My Thoughts on the Song

When you hear I Don’t Want This Night To End you think of songs like Hazard from Richard Marx or songs like Somewhere With You and You Save Me by Kenny Chesney. With this latest single it seems Luke Bryan is really trying to blend his country sound with a few pop sounds. It’s a unique approach and one that should serve Bryan well as he looks to become a superstar in the music world.

Luke BryanThe sound of I Don’t Want This Night To End is really the story here. The song is about a guy falling for this girl. They’re spending the night together and he doesn’t want it to end. The story is nothing new, but the voice and the sound are pretty unique especially for an artist like Bryan. I think what could happen with this song is it could get some play on Adult Contemporary or even the Pop stations. There could be a recut version of the track with a few more guitars and voice effects.

Another great aspect of the song is Luke’s storytelling ability. He co-wrote this one with a few guys that are on a roll right now with songwriting. The song has great visuals. You put yourself in the seats of the truck as one of the two people. You feel the wind. If you’re the girl you have your hands up; your hair blowing in the breeze with the windows down. If you’re the guy you have one hand on the truck and the other moving around.

Luke Bryan is just rolling right now. He’s hitting on every single release and this one should just be another ho-hum top five hit and probably a number one song as we roll through the fall of 2011.

Luke Bryan Looking to Be a Superstar

With his first album Luke came out as the guy just out of college still looking for a good time. A few of the songs were about the good old days of partying and not having a care in the world. As things moved into his second album he grew up a bit. The songs were about love, family, and the things that come along with adulthood.

Now on the third album Luke is really diving into the love side of things. There’s a maturity in the lyrics. Even on I Don’t Want This Night To End it seems like a mature take on young love. There’s passion. There’s emotion. That’s what sells songs to the general country audience – both women and men.

Luke Bryan is coming into his own as an artist. It’s usually around the third or fourth album when the stars really start to form. I’d say on this record Luke Bryan will reach headliner status. He’s at that point where he’s got the confidence to command the stage and have his name be the biggest on the bill. Look for Luke to be one of the last names on the setlists next summer. He should have this and one or two more big hits under his belt by that time.
