Another song bites the dust.
Luke Bryan has moved on to the first single from his upcoming third album. That is definitely a reason to celebrate. The new single is climbing the charts fast.
While I understand the reasons to move to a new album it also makes me think about the album cuts on the previous album that could have been singles.
Listen to Every Time I See You by Luke Bryan…
Every Time I See You – Luke Bryan
Do you think it could have been a hit?
Every Time I See You has this cool groove to it. The music is kind of low and mean in a way. There is a sadness to it. Beyond Luke’s surefire southern country voice there is almost a little pop to this song. It’s something really different. Even in today’s country world where pop is kind of creeping in, which is fine, I think this song stands out.
Luke Bryan has really been climbing the rungs on the country music ladder the past two years. I saw him perform live in concert last summer when he came to Country Jam in Eau Claire. He put on a great show. I was hoping for a little rain so he could really get into his big hit at the time, but it was bright and sunny and that was ok too.
I don’t think it’s a big and bold prediction to think Luke Bryan will continue his rise to country stardom in 2011. He’s been racking up hits and is coming off two straight number ones with another seemingly on the way.
I just like to look back at the good albums and think about what could have been. There were some good songs off Luke’s first two albums and I don’t want one of them like Every Time I See You to get completely lost.
I hope you enjoyed it.
And who knows – maybe it’ll get released on a hits collection or something. It’s happened before.
