I always like a good uptempo country song. I think it’s probably difficult to write any country song. But I think it’s a little under-appreciated it is to write a good uptempo country song.
It seems that many artists more easily lean toward the sad songs. The ballads. The love songs and things like that. Things that are a bit on the slower side.
But country fans, while liking the slower things, still like their uptempo tunes. I know I do.
Here is a great new uptempo song. I think you’ll like it.
Mexico – Pat McHenry
Sometimes life can wear you down. Work. Family and friends. Bills. It’s all great and all, but sometimes it can really wear on your brain. Lots of stress going on and sometimes it’s easy to sit back and wonder what it would be like to change things.
I think that’s what’s going on with this song. We have a guy going through those thoughts. He’s wondering why it’s so important to keep up with the Joneses. Working to have things when maybe those things don’t really mean all that much.
Maybe the high life is down there in Mexico. Living on the beach. A little house. Only what we absolutely need in life. Nothing else to elevate the stress.
Maybe we all only get this feeling once in awhile. Life isn’t really that bad back here in the States. It’s stressful from time to time, but it’s pretty good.
But it’s still fun to think about what it would be like living on the beach…
