This is another one that I believe popped up on Wild Country on Spotify awhile back. I thought I had already put it up here on CML, but I must have missed it. The song stood out the first couple times I heard it and it’s continued to stand out.
I don’t know if that means it’s a hit or anything like that, but I know I like it and I think you’ll like it to. So let’s check this one out and see if Jameson Rodgers has himself a future in country music.
Midnight Daydream – Jameson Rodgers
This one has a good melody. It has a really cool sound that sounds familiar with other country songs right now, but it also has something a little different. Those are both good things. That’s a difficult balance to find, but it’s a reason I think people are going to like this one.
You can hear a little Canaan Smith and Brantley Gilbert in this one. It’s a good mix and both of those artists have had some good success and I think Jameson could as well. We’ll have to wait and see.
The song is a story about a guy that’s had a breakup or something like that with a former lover. He’s still thinking about her and he can’t really move on from her memory. Even when he’s with a new girl and trying to move on all he can think about is that past love. He misses her even though he knows he has to move on.
Who hasn’t been there before?
This is a good one. I hope it finds a place on country radio.
