I’m pretty sure this is the new single from Chris Stapleton. It’s always a little tricky to actually figure out the radio singles with him.
That’s because he’s not really a radio artist. He’s had just that one top ten hit so far. His other radio singles have kind of hovered around for awhile, but never really breaking out.
Unless you’re a big time Chris Stapleton fan you might not know what songs have been hits. But chances are really good that you own all three of his albums. If it wasn’t for Chris I don’t think any artist in Nashville would be selling any albums these days. I think all three of his are in the top ten on the country charts right now.
But those pesky singles are another story.
Midnight Train To Memphis – Chris Stapleton
Definitely some Southern Rock in this one. That’s pretty cool. The really interesting thing about Chris is that he seems to love all kinds of different music. Rock, Southern Rock, Traditional Country, Modern Country and just about everything in between. And he can really pull them all off by adding his own style.
It’s really cool that Chris has found his niche in music. Everybody in Nashville seems to love this guy and he does seem genuinely nice. And he also seems to love that people are loving his music. Again, maybe not so much at radio, but definitely with the albums.
I don’t know how this one will do at radio. Maybe the top 30. It just doesn’t have that big hit sound that country radio wants. But you can definitely jam to this one.
