I heard this one on Wild Country on Spotify. Sometimes I’ll turn that playlist on while I’m working during the day. Then I kind of go into the zone or whatever and I don’t really hear what I’m listening to, but somehow some songs kind of work their way into my brain.
Do you get that?
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems to happen once in awhile and this song is one that has kind of been getting stuck in my head so I had to share it.
Motown – Jason Mizelle
It’s a pretty simply hook and idea for a song. This guy is feeling something for a girl and how he relates that feeling is that it kind of makes him feel like he does when he’s listening to Motown music. It’s fun. It’s happy. Sometimes it’s sad and emotional, but he’s feeling all those things with this woman. All he wants to do is spend time with her.
It’s a clever little hook and idea for a song. It’s risky because the idea of Motown is a big one and well known in the world so if you take on that comparison it’s going to be tricky.
But I think Jason pulled it off well. I think he found a good melody that isn’t exactly like Motown, but it’s catchy and good in its own right.
I think Jason is on an independent label group right now, but maybe this one can catch on a little and get some major promotion. You never know. Sometimes all you need is a good song and this one is good.
What do you think?
