I wasn’t sure the direction this one would go when I first saw the title. I thought it might be about a person, but after hearing it my take is that it’s someone looking back on Christmases from their past.
But you’ll have to let me know what you think. I think it’s a good Christmas song and I always like hearing new Christmas songs during the holidays.
It’s always good to hear the classics, but we have to keep trying to find those new classics.
My Christmas Caroline – Kellie Pickler
So my take – I don’t know if it’s right or wrong – is that this is about those Christmases that you remember from years ago. It’s probably from childhood and all those good times or maybe even from when you’re a young adult or just from a few years ago. Those things from the holidays that seem to happen over and over again. Like all those same old stories that grandpa tells. You don’t appreciate them at the time, but later on you remember them fondly.
The Caroline in the song is North Carolina. I had to look Kellie up on Wikipedia quick to make sure that was where she was from. I don’t know if I should have known that, but it all makes sense with the song.
This one sounds like a throwback Christmas classic. It’s kind of that mid-tempo song that just has a nostalgic feel to it. I really like how Kellie did this one. It’s not over the top or anything like that, but just a well-delivered song and one that makes you feel and yearn for your own old holidays with family and friends.
What do you think?
