I’m not sure when Dylan Scott signed with Curb Records in Nashville. It may have been last year. We’ve had his songs here on CML for at least a couple years, but I think he was doing the independent thing for awhile and having some good success with it.
But now he’s with Curb, which has been a major player for a long time. And things seem to be setup well for a strong debut album later this summer. Her is the next single that sounds like a hit.
My Girl – Dylan Scott
If you’ve heard Dylan’s music in the past then this one will seem right in his wheelhouse. It features his unique vocals that are a little rock and a little modern country, but there are elements traditional country too. And he really gets low in a couple parts, which is a little different than other country songs out there now.
The song is pretty catchy. It’s a straightforward love song and we’ve heard lyrics like this in the past, but Dylan makes it work really well. It’s something you can sing along with. The lyrics do make you smile as you think about the girl in your life and all the little things she does that make you smile and make you know that she’s the one.
I can see this one doing well over the summer. I think there is already some good buzz behind this one and maybe it’ll become Dylan’s first hit song.
