Charlie Worsham is back on the scene with new music in 2017.
We featured some of Charlie’s music back a few years ago. One of his songs reached the top 15 on the singles charts.
I’m not really sure what he’s been up to for the last few years, but he’s got a brand new album on tap for later this spring.
In anticipation he released a handful of songs and we’ll check one out. I’m not sure if it’s the first single, but it’s a good one.
Old Time’s Sake – Charlie Worsham
Doesn’t this sound like a throwback?
When you listen to this one you can easily hear it coming out of an old jukebox on some dusty roadside tavern. You’re the only one sitting in there and maybe someone walks in.
That seems to be kind of what’s going on with the song’s lyrics. I think it’s the story of a guy that’s kind of sitting around. He’s got some free time on his hands.
You know those musicians. They live hand to mouth. Probably no TV or anything to keep them busy. They’re sitting around strumming on the guitar and with all that free time they can think about their lives.
And sometimes those moments will lead you to thinking about past loves. That’s my guess to what’s going on with this one. It’s either a guy that’s looking to reconnect with someone he lost track of or it’s a guy looking to reconnect with the girl he’s with in the way they used too.
Either way this is a really cool song. You don’t hear music like this on the radio anymore, but I hope we do with this one.
