The boundaries of country music have always been a little blurred. That’s one of the things I love most about country music. It really can be welcoming to different kinds of music. The key thing that brings it all together, it seems, is that it’s music people like and that represents what they’re feeling and living.
With that in mind let’s check out a new song from Jordan Prince.
Parade – Jordan Prince
It definitely has a folk feel to this song. It kind of sounds almost like a lullaby and something you would for sure hear in a coffee shop or at a folk festival in the summer.
I’m not really sure what the lyrics are discussing. They seem to have a deeper meaning than would first appear. Maybe it’s a reflection on life and how one person sees it all. Maybe it’s not that deep and is just a snapshot of the world and what’s going on around us all today.
What always brings me to a song starting out is the melody and this one has a good one. It doesn’t overpower you or anything like that, but your ears are interested from the beginning and all the way through. And I like that guitar solo that comes after the first part, but before the beginning.
This is a little different than the songs we normally have here on CML, but I think that’s a good thing. You’ll have to let me know your thoughts on this one and if you’re a fan of Jordan’s be sure to share your story.
