Ryan Follese is a new artist looking for that first hit. I believe he’s on one of the Big Machine labels. That’s good news for any artist since that label has been killing it the last several years. Taylor Swift has been a big part of it, but they’ve had big success with other artists as well (Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, etc.).
Earlier this year we looked at a fun single from Ryan. I’ve been hearing this other new one on Wild Country on Spotify. It’s been a standout to me on that playlist so we’re going to check it out here.
Put A Label On It – Ryan Follese
What I’m liking most about this one is the melody. I think that’s why I kept coming back to it on that playlist. I would be writing during the day and working and this song would come on in the background and I always found myself kind of grooving my head along with this melody. It’s catchy. It’s kind of laid back and fun. It’s just really good.
The lyrics are about a guy that is finding himself falling for a girl. He’s ready to make the jump. Maybe he’s not 100% sure if she’s in the same place, but sometimes you have to take that jump and just kind of go for it. And the hook is that he’s ready to put a label on what their relationship is now. They’re past the point of just dating and he wants to make it official.
I don’t know the plans for this one at radio, but I think it would have a good shot there. We’ll have to wait and see.
