Sara Evans has been one of my favorite artists for a long time. She’s been one of the few artists out there who has been able to have success in three decades. She’s been around a long time, but her music sounds as fresh now as it did on her first and second records.
When Sara first came out she was very much a traditional country singer. She’s added modern influences since then, but when she sings you still hear those traditional country vocals.
I’m slacking lately because this single came out earlier this year and I missed it. Let me know if you’ve already heard it.
Put My Heart Down – Sara Evans
It doesn’t get any better than Sara singing a country song. The lyrics here are very much from a country viewpoint. You could imagine this one being a country hit at anytime in the history of country music. It’s about a couple that’s having a really difficult time. They’re fighting and not getting along and the woman is for sure ready to move on.
But the melody is more of a modern one. There are a few pop influences, but I think it still fits very much in the country world especially with Sara and her wonderful voice.
I think the song is really catchy. I’m not sure what the story with the song is as far as being a single. It looks like it was released and maybe didn’t chart earlier this year.
The country music scene is really difficult right now for female artists. I’m not sure what’s going on. There are plenty of talented females out there. I don’t know what the radio stations are thinking or maybe what the fans are thinking.
Great song here again from Sara – one of the best of all time.
