Last year Waterloo Revival released a couple of good songs to radio. They hung out around the top 50, but didn’t make much of a dent with radio. I think they did pretty well online with the streaming services and things like that. I remember liking the songs.
The duo was associated with Big Machine and that can be a pretty good indicator that they have a good chance of breaking through. But it looks like they’re out on their own now. So things will be hard, but they’re going to keep on working.
Here is their new song.
Racin’ To The Red Light – Waterloo Revival
I like this one. I liked the first two singles that the band put out. I’m curious about what happened with Big Machine, but we’ll move on and focus on this new song.
The song is about love and the feeling you get when you’re with someone that makes you feel happy inside. All you can think about is spending time with them. And when you are with them you have to catch yourself from thinking too far ahead. You try to focus on the moment you’re in and just kind of soak up everything that’s going on.
That story and feeling is wrapped up in a really good melody. The guitars are pretty cool on this one. It has a classic rock sound a little bit and that fits in pretty well with the country style of today.
These guys have a good style and sound. I’ll be curious to see if they catch on with another label.
