I haven’t been doing a very good job of keeping up with the show, Nashville. I keep hearing good things, but it’s probably one of those I’ll have to catch on Netflix once all the episodes are up there. But I do try to keep up with the music. Every once in a while I’ll catchy one of the songs and that was the case with this one that was performed by Charles Esten on The Grand Ole Opry. This is some real country.

How about that? Real country does exist in the world today. It’s a little hard to find, but it’s out there. We have proof right here and it’s even from a guy that’s been doing it on one of the biggest TV shows in the world right now.
The song seems incredibly sad. I think it’s about a guy that has lost the girl he once had. All he can do is read letters she wrote to him. That’s all he has left of her along with a few other memories.
This is the kind of sad country song that we used to hear more of even as recent as a few years ago. I’m all for the party songs, but sometimes it’s good to hear one of those heartbreaking sad country songs.
This one is a welcomed breath of fresh air. Don’t you think?
