It’s been a pretty impressive couple years for Dan + Shay. They’re on a little bit of a run right now. They’re coming off three straight number ones at radio. People seem to be digging their style and brand of country music.
They remind me of Rascal Flatts. And those guys are still around after almost two decades. That bodes well for Dan + Shay depending on what they want to do with the rest of their career.
Right now, though, it seems like they’re just enjoying the ride. Staying in the moment. Making catchy music that makes people want to listen.
Here is their next single.
Road Trippin’ – Dan + Shay
I guess we’re coming to the end of the Summer of 2017. So I don’t know if there is time for more songs of summer. But this one would fit right there as a great summertime song.
The lyrics are straightforward and pretty much what you would expect from the title. That’s not a bad or a good thing. Although I do like when a song is nothing too complex. It’s just the kind that will make you feel like having a good time.
I don’t know if it’s always been like this, but it seems like the younger generations are understanding the importance of living life. They don’t seem quite as into consumerism and things like that. They’ve cut back on spending in a lot of ways and they want just enough while leaving time for leisure with friends and family.
That’s kind of the vibe I get from this one. It should be popular with the younger country fans.
Chart Estimate: #3
