I wasn’t sure to expect from this title. I think it could have went a couple of different ways, but when the lyrics started coming through in the song it totally made sense.
And it definitely gets you rocking and feeling like you’re at a tavern hearing a really good garage band ripping through rocking country songs.
With the Tommy Steele Band you definitely get the feeling of Kentucky Headhunters and rocking bands like that from the ’80s and ’90s.
Rockin’ Both Sides – Tommy Steele Band
Back in my 20s I would spend a good number of my weekends in the taverns in Wisconsin. That was kind of what you did to have a good time with friends. Usually there would be some band playing covers and even through in some originals.
Up here in Wisconsin people like a mix of rock and country. In fact, we have a festival nearby that has both a rock fest and a country fest.
Those fans like to hear bands like Tommy Steele Band and songs like Rockin’ Both Sides.
The song seems to be about a girl that can go on both sides of the city and the country fence. She can be high class when necessary, but she’s just as comfortable coming over to the country side and having a good time with the small town folks.
We all know people like that. I definitely know them here in Wisconsin. They go to work at an office, but they drive there in their dirty pickup trucks.
Cool new band for us here at Country Music Life.
