We’re going a little into uncharted territory with this new single from Eric Church.
This will be the sixth single from The Outsiders. Eric is on the three year plan or so for his new albums and he’s got a little more time before he’ll put something new out.
So it’s one more single and we don’t often get six singles from one album. I think Shania used to do it and so did the Dixie Chicks, but not very often.
Let’s check this one out.
Roller Coaster Ride – Eric Church
It’s got another badass Eric Church sound to it. He really went into some different and even weird places on this album and this song fits right in. But it still has this catchy quality to it that makes you sing along halfway through the song. You’re kind of pulled into it like a ride, which is pretty cool.
The song seems to be about a guy that is trying to get over a woman. So I would classify it in the sad songs category. It’s always challenging for anybody when you’re in that situation.
Relationships can end in many ways, but it’s usually not an easy situation. You’re often riding around in all kinds of emotions. First you’re really sad and then you’re happy thinking about how much better off you’ll be and then you’re right back to sad and lonely again.
Pretty cool hook from Eric on this one. I think it sounds like a hit. It’s certainly a good comparison and it’s different from the other recent roller coaster song from Luke Bryan.
