Eric Church’s Mr. Misunderstood album is finding its groove.
That’s kind of weird to say about an album that’s been out for a year and a half. But this album has had an interesting life.
Eric dropped it on fans kind of out of nowhere in the Fall of 2015. The first single, the title track, was a hit, but it only reached the top fifteen on the chart.
But since then the singles have found a nice groove. Back to back hits and what sounds like another one on the way.
Round Here Buzz – Eric Church
The first time I heard this one I wasn’t sure what it was about. It’s that kind of song that has a good groove. You catch yourself singing along in the car, but you’re not even really sure what it’s about.
From looking at the lyrics it looks like this one gets back to the Mr. Misunderstood theme a little bit. You have a guy that’s chilling by himself in a small town. He doesn’t really have anywhere to go. It sounds like him and his girlfriend are having some issues. They’re not together on this night.
And it sounds like maybe it’s for the best anyway. He didn’t get along with her parents. It seems like he’s not looking for his own parents or for his own friends tonight.
He’s not feeling too depressed or anything. He’s just chilling and drinking some beers…looking for a little buzz.
Just something to get him through the night.
