John Berry has put out some of my favorite songs. I grew up during the ’90s and he had more than a few hits on the charts during that era. I still hear them on the radio today and always turn the radio up a notch or two and sing along.
Last week I was checking out the country chart somewhere and saw that John had a new album out. I hadn’t kept up with his career in quite a few years so I had to check it out.
She’s Mine – John Berry
There’s no official single or anything I don’t think for this album so I thought I would just preview the first track on the album. The song is She’s Mine and I was treated to a great song right from the get go.
John sounds as good as he ever has. He always had a unique voice in country music. He was definitely country, but always kind of in the Adult Contemporary sounding way. A little country. A little pop. It was cool. It’s weird now to think that he’s kind of a traditionalist in the country world.
This is a great song. It kind of seems like the type of song that would do really well on country radio. It’s a love song about the love for a woman and how the guy can’t really believe that she’s his. The melodies are catchy and it sounds great.
It’s just an independent release for now, but I’ll be checking out the full album.
Have you heard this one yet?
Let me know what you think.
