Jessie James Decker had a Top 40 hit eight years ago. It seems like that went by pretty fast.
Shortly after that success in the pop world she came over to the country world. You can tell that country music is her true love, but she still brings her love of pop music to what she creates.
And that’s the way to do it. There is no definition of country music other than sincere music that the artist believes in and loves.
Jessie has put out a number of singles over the years. She has a brand new EP out this year and this is potentially the next single. I know it’s getting some love on Spotify right now.
Shoot Out The Lights – Jessie James Decker
This song was co-written by Maren Morris. When you have a song written by Maren you know that you have something pretty cool.
The song is about a couple that’s maybe been getting a little comfortable. They’ve been together for awhile. They’ve kind of fallen into a normal routine and maybe even a little bit of a rut.
That can be fine on some levels, but once in awhile it’s important to remember that you’re not dead yet. You can spend some of the time sitting on the couch watching Netflix, but you also have to get out and have some fun.
This is a pretty cool song. It looks like Jessie is teamed up with Sony Nashville for this new EP. I’m curious to see how it goes for her.
She’s definitely been working hard to get some music on radio.
