So I’ve been trying to find some cool country music podcasts. I found a couple and on one of them was Tara Thompson. She was on Behind The Curtain of Country Music. That is a cool podcast so be sure to check out their episodes. I see they have a new one with Suzy Bogguss so I’ll be checking that out.
Anyway, Tara Thompson was a guest recently and she really struck me as having a great personality and outlook on life. And she sang a few of her songs and they were really cool.
I can’t remember if she sang this one, but I thought it was worth checking out today.
Side Effects – Tara Thompson
To me, this is really some stone country. We have someone that’s kind of going through the ups and downs of life, but they have a pretty good attitude about it.
A friend is there for another friend that’s been going through a breakup. She’s there for her, but she’s also there to kind of warn her about the side effects of a breakup. There are some stages that she’ll probably go through. Some will be kind of fun. Some will lead to guilt and the whole deal.
It’s kind of an honest look at breakups, but it’s also tongue-in-cheek and just a cool way of looking at life and not taking it too seriously. I like it.
It looks like Tara put out an album last year on Big Machine. I’m not sure what the status is with promotion or singles or anything like that, but we’ll see if this one comes out.
