Sammy included Jordan Davis in his writeup earlier this year. And that inclusion is proving to be right.
It’s still pretty early, but Jordan’s debut single for MCA is steadily climbing the radio charts. It has the sound of a potential hit. Usually those first singles take a little time to climb the chart. I think the climb for this one could continue.
Check this one out and see what you think. So far I’m liking it.
Singles You Up – Jordan Davis
This is a pretty classic situation for life. You have someone that’s admiring someone else kind of from afar. Maybe they’ve been friends. Maybe they’ve just met once or twice.
In this song it’s the guy that’s doing the admiring. The girl probably doesn’t even realize it. She’s already with a guy, but the new guy has been observing them for a little bit and it doesn’t appear that she and her current guy have a lot in common.
Different musical interests. He doesn’t seem to care that much or pay that much attention to her.
So that’s the story happening in this one, but the bigger hook here is probably the music in the song. It’s incredibly catchy. You’ll be singing along with every word in the chorus the second time you listen.
I don’t know much about Jordan and his background. I’m curious to find out if he wrote this one. There are so many great songwriters turning into artists right now. Maybe Jordan is another.
He’s got a good style and a good song here. I’ll be curious to see just how high this one goes.
