I’ve been waiting patiently for the official lyric video or music video for this one, but it hasn’t been released yet. So we’ll have to use this video from YouTube. It’s not the official one, but hopefully that’s okay (it’s not mine). Since this weekend is the big fall Talladega race I think it’s a good time to post this one.
Talladega – Eric Church
This is a pretty cool song. I think Eric is at his best when he’s singing these kind of mid-tempo ballad-type songs. This one is about a group of friends that pull their money all together and make their way to Talladega. It’s about the last ditch effort they all make to spend a fun weekend together before real life starts.
This happens for most young adults. You’re kind of caught in the middle of where you’ve been and where you’re going. If you enjoyed the previous life it’s hard to let go. I know a few people that have really struggled with the transition. They don’t know what to expect in the future so they try to stay in the same place. The trouble with that is that everyone else moves forward and you’re left behind.
Great song here from Eric Church. I can really see people connecting with this one. I think it’s something most of us can relate to. I really like my life now, but sometimes it’s easy to think back to a good time we’ve had in the past. Just for a few minutes to relive those favorite moments.
