The other day I was going to say that Little Big Town was coming up on their tenth year in country music. But that would have actually been wrong. The band had their first big hit in 2005 with Boondocks, but the band had actually released a few singles a couple years earlier.
It’s incredibly difficult for a band or any act to break out in country music. And Little Big Town did it on an independent label, which is stacking the odds even more. But the band stuck with their dream and made music that was fresh and different. And it worked with that first big hit.
But that first hit can only live so long and most will want to follow it up with something just as good. And that can be even more challenging that getting that first hit. This country music business is starting to sound impossible.
But in 2006, Little Big Town released the single, Bring It On Home, and it shot all the way into the top five on the charts. The song became a huge hit and Little Big Town was off to the races with their career. The album sold millions and the songs were played on the radio all the time.
The band has continued to have ups and downs throughout the last decade. They’ve had songs kind of fall on the charts and not do much, but they’ve also had some huge hits. And right now they’re continuing to find a groove in country music.
But today we flashback to this song, their second big hit on the charts.
