I’m a little embarrassed to say that I don’t think we’ve ever done a SHeDAISY song here on CML. That’s just wrong. Back when I was really getting into country music these sisters were right on the top of the charts. They were so different at the time and people were really loving their music.
I remember that just about all the teenage girls I knew had this record. And their moms loved the songs too. The songs were mostly upbeat, but they always touched on real emotions.
And I know more than a few men loved the songs as well. How can you not love catchy songs that are just fun to sing along with?
This one was probably my favorite from the trio: Don’t Worry ‘Bout A Thing. This one actually came out in 2005, which was six years after the sisters debuted on the charts. They had four major hits with their first record and then had a few hits that just did okay. Their sophomore record had great songs, but kind of fell into that sophomore funk.
But they came back strong with their third record. The first two singles made the top 15 and this one brought them back into the top ten.
I like the song because it’s obviously very autobiographical. I always smiled about the line about Mickey Mouse, which was a little nod to the band being on Lyric Street Records, which was owned by Disney.
Great song back in 2005. I can’t believe it’s 10 years ago. It’s still great today.
Do you remember it?
