The three channels I listen to the most on SiriusXM are 56, 57 and 58.
I tend to lean a little heavier on Channel 58 Prime Country.
Shout out to Deborah Allen.
That station plays all the best country from the ’80s and ’90s. Looking back on my life I’m not really sure why I fell in love with that era of music.
I was born in 1984 and really start remembering country music from the mid-90s or so. That certainly is included in Prime Country, but I really like so many of the songs that came before that time.
I don’t remember Hey Cinderella from its run on the charts…maybe I do. It would have been late ’93 and into ’94 when the song climbed all the way into the top five on the charts.
Over the years, though, the song has continued to be played. And every time it comes on Prime Country I turned it up a notch or two on the dial.
The song is catchy. It always had a unique melody and Suzy Bogguss nails it with the vocal as always. She’s one of the best singers that country has ever had.
I heard Hey Cinderella recently and thought we should include it on the Throwback Thursday this week.
And up until now I don’t think I ever really sat back and thought about the lyrics. It seems to about a woman that is looking at the dreams of young women or perhaps all young folks.
You have this dream of a perfect fairytale and if you think that way you can get disappointed.
Maybe it’s just the narrator’s version and frustration of what’s going on in his or her life.
Great song. Great artist.
I love listening to this one every time I hear it.
