Today we’re looking back about six years ago when Jason Michael Carroll was getting into the second single from his sophomore album. The song was Hurry Home and it would end up peaking in the top 15 on the country singles charts.
This was the surprising end of Jason’s run in the top 20 on the charts. It was his fifth single. They were all hits especially the first two and even the two on his second record did very well. They may not have cracked the top ten on the charts, but I remember hearing them all the time on the radio. And the videos were getting played just as often on CMT.
I’m not sure what happened with Jason Michael Carroll and his label, which looks like it was Arista. He was one of the most promising new artists at the time. Then it all just kind of came to an end.
He has been busy with his career in the six years since. He’s released music on Cracker Barrel and he has new music coming out it looks like with a project he’s been crowdfunding. It also looks like he keeps up a pretty heavy touring schedule each year.
I guess maybe things don’t work out sometimes. The reasons maybe don’t matter, but we can still look back on these songs that did make an impact on the chart. They were good songs and this one was probably my favorite. There’s a lot of emotion in them.
