Faith Hill appeared on the ACMs a couple weeks ago to debut a new duet with Tim McGraw. Time has taken the lead with his career in their relationship the last decade. Faith has been staying home raising their girls while releasing new music on occasion. There have been a couple singles and also a great Christmas album. And she’s been doing tours and residencies with Tim like an upcoming on in Vegas. So she’s been busy.
And motherhood is a full-time job and then some and I’m sure she’s doing a great job with it. But it’s easy to look back on Faith’s career in the ’90s and early ’00s and see just how wonderful she was when she was singing. This is one of my favorite songs from that era.
You Can’t Lose Me – Faith Hill
I don’t know what it is about this song, but I’ve always liked it. Maybe it’s the upbeat nature and the good outlook on life. It’s good to feel like something is going to be there for you. I think the lyrics are about a mother or motherly figure saying they’re always going to be there for their child. That’s a strong sentiment and it really makes you feel good if you’re the one in the situation.
But the song could also work for anyone you love. When you love someone to the point where they can do no wrong it’s really special. I think we all feel that way about a couple people in our lives including parents, siblings, significant others and kids. It’s a special feeling that can make you happy.
That’s what makes this song so great. It’s a happy song with a really catchy melody. I don’t think it’s remembered by many, but only because Faith had a ton of great hits. But it’ll always be one of my favorites.
