There was some backlash a few years ago against the Bro Country thing that was going on in country music. There were some good songs and I think the whole label got kind of blown out of proportion.
Sure there were some songs that focused entirely on the small town life, but that’s how things are. Nothing wrong with that.
Now things are kind of switching a little and getting a little softer. Guys are singing songs that are lovey dovey about the things they feel with the ones they love.
That’s kind of where this one from Bryan Kent falls.
Tennnessee Neon – Bryan Kent
I’ve listened to this a few times and each time it kind of gets stuck in my head a little more. That chorus is really catchy. The title is the main hook and it’s really something that makes you smile.
It’s a pretty straight ahead country love song. It’s about a guy that loves his girl and it includes all the different metaphors for the way he feels about her.
This one would instantly be a hit for someone like Blake Shelton or Easton Corbin or someone like that. They’ve made a living on songs like this. Picture Honey Bee from Blake. A little sappy in the lyrics, sure, but it’s all in good fun.
I could see this one doing pretty well for Bryan. I think he’s doing the independent thing, though, right now and that’s always a tough road.
But you never know…
