These days you have to go to the Texas charts to find traditional country music. I grew up on George Strait and Alan Jackson with a little bit of George Jones thrown in. Not many of my friends liked the same kind of music, but that was just fine with me.
I’ll always be partial to that sound. I do like the modern sound too in many cases, but I always have a little yearning for those ’90s sounds.
And today you get that sound from the artists down in Texas. One of them is Aaron Watson and he’s done it again with this latest single.
That Look – Aaron Watson
It’s just a fun romantic song. It’s kind of a mid groove that makes you feel like grabbing your girl and dancing around the room. I think you have to do that sometimes. Life gets busy and you have to remind each other that you’re in love and that you can make each other tremble just like in the old days.
There are a few electric guitars thrown in on this one, but there is also a little violin. You don’t hear that as much anymore. On a side note – what happened to the harmonica in country music? That’s something I miss from the old days, but I guess things always go in cycles.
Anyway, great song here from Aaron Watson. I would love to hear what you think in the comments. Is this one a great country song or one you’re going to pass on?
