The group originally formed and tried their hand in the music industry back in 2005. With little success they kept working and now are looking for a big hit in 2011 with their latest single.
The new song from The Harters is If I Run and it seems like a good one when you hear on the radio.
I’ve been hearing If I Run for a bit now on the new country station. The first thing to capture my attention was the soaring vocals on the chorus. Lead singer Leslie really belts out the lyrics as her two brothers share the harmonies. It makes for a great sounding song.
If I Run is about a woman wondering if she’s really in love for real this time. In her mind she’s seeing herself fall in love. She sees all the makings of a wedding in her future with her new man. She’s hard her heart broken in the past though it seems so there is a bit of doubt in her mind. She’s looking to test the guy to see if he follows her when she runs and if he’ll care about her for the rest of their lives.
From my perspective this makes sense. Women are often the ones pegged in the relationship as having the beautiful wedding dreams. Women are also usually the ones doing all the relationship testing – playing the little games to see if their man really does care about them.
I see men as being just as guilty though. We do it all too.
This is a great song from the new group – The Harters. There is a unique sound in their music. It’s a bit like Little Big Town and Lady Antebellum, but there are just a few out there and plenty of room for more. Perhaps 2011 is the year The Harters join the ranks of the big guns.
