Brantley Gilbert has quickly become one of the biggest stars in country music right now.
But it wasn’t a straight shot to superstardom for the country singer.
Brantley was signed to Average Joes for his first label. And some really good things happened for him there, but Big Machine picked up his second album and re-released it.
One of the songs from that album was released as a single on Average Joes, but never got airplay and wasn’t a single after Big Machine picked it up today.
Let’s check it out.
Them Boys – Brantley Gilbert
It’s obvious that Brantley was busy raising hell in his younger days. It seems like he’s mellowed a little bit now that he’s entering his 30s. Maybe not completely, but at least a little bit.
That’s kind of what this song is about. It’s about the mistakes boys make when they’re young. They think they’re on top of the world. They think nothing can touch them. They don’t really think about how their actions affect others.
Then you grow up and you’re kind of ashamed of those moments, but maybe that happens to everyone out there. I don’t know.
This is a good song. It’s about reflection and thinking back on times and how you grow and change over the years…for the better.
Great song from Brantley. I don’t know if it would ever be released as a single or anything like that, but it doesn’t deserve to be forgotten.
What do you think of the song?
