Sister C came out with a single last year and it seems like it’s still getting some good attention. They also have a new EP out this year that has what they’re calling demo sessions on it including that first single.
What’s standing out to me, though, is the first song on the EP: This Bar Ain’t Big Enough. It seems like others are liking the song too because it looks to be the most played song on the EP.
So let’s check it out.
This Bar Ain’t Big Enough – Sister C
The song is about the struggles two people go through when they go through a breakup. They aren’t sure how to change their lives. They don’t really want to be in the same room with each other, but they share friends and they share hangouts. I don’t know if there is a right answer for what should happen. It’s just one of those changes that happens in life that we have to work through.
This song definitely has some classic country sounds to it. There is some twang in there and I like that about this song. The girls also have a really cool sound together. It’s not all in on modern country, but not all in on traditional. It sounds fresh and different from other songs in country right now and I think that’s a good thing.
We’re at a turning point in country. Women struggled for years to get played on radio, but that has definitely been changing over the last year. Maybe Sister C will be able to catch on with the mainstream audience and maybe this song could be the one.
