We’ve heard from Adam Sanders pretty recently here on CML. I hadn’t known about him until his single Somewhere That You Don’t Go. I really liked that song and still include it on a few of my playlists.
It was a catchy song and really one that should have gone a little further on the mainstream radio charts. But sometimes it’s hard for new artists to breakthrough.
Here is the next single.
Will it be the breakthrough?
Thunder – Adam Sanders
This one definitely takes a different direction from Somewhere. It sounds quite a bit different and that is pretty bold and I think it works out well.
The hook is that this guy sees all the good things going on around him. It seems like there is sunshine and green grass on the other side of the street, but where he is there is nothing, but a storm.
The girl tried to put a spin on it with a silver lining, but he’s not really seeing that right now. All he can hear is the thunder in his mind and the feeling that his world is coming to an end…at least the way he thought it would turn out.
The production and sound fit in really well with modern country music. It sounds like it belongs on the radio. But Adam’s voice sounds distinct. It certainly sounds good with a nice amount of country twang too. I think people would hear it and wonder who that singer is, which is a good thing for new artists.
I like this one and I hope it becomes a hit because Adam seems like he would be a good artist to have in country music for the next several years.
